Meet Your Coach

I'm Coach Alex Baschoff — and I'm here to pull the next level out of you

Coach Alex Baschoff

I'm Alex Baschoff — a career athlete turned obsessive pickleball coach who actually cares about the players in front of me. Whether this is your first paddle or you're chasing a higher DUPR, my whole job is to find more in you than you knew was there.

My style is hands-on, high-energy, and built on rapid feedback. No long speeches, no watching from the sideline. We move, we drill, we compete — and I'm right next to you, breaking down technique, footwork, and decision-making rep by rep so the changes actually stick after you leave.

Most of all, I coach the human, not just the player. I'll push when you need pushing, encourage when it gets hard, and make sure you walk off the court more confident, more capable, and more in love with this game than when you walked on.

Why my approach actually moves the needle:

I bring decades of coaching across multiple sports plus serious playing experience in this one. I don't just describe what good looks like — I show you, I compete with you, and I walk you through how high-level players actually think and move.

But what gets me genuinely fired up? The drilling. A lot of it.

Not the soul-crushing repetitive kind — competitive drilling, where everyone is engaged, challenged, and laughing through it. The kind where you hit ball after ball in rapid fire while quietly racing the player next to you. That is what turns practice into actual performance.

I don't waste your time talking. We drill. We compete. You get better. You feel it right away.

On Coming Soon, I'm bringing that exact approach to a small group of players in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Schedule

Your 4-Hour Game-Changer

I

Welcome & Warm-Up

20 min
Meet the people you'll be playing with for years

Names, home courts, current goals — we trade them all inside the first five minutes. Numbers get swapped right there on the court because real friendships start day one. Then a movement warm-up tuned specifically for the 40+ body.

II

Serves & Returns That Actually Win Points

30 min
The two shots that decide every rally before it starts

We layer the serve in stages — flat and biting, slice that pulls them wide, topspin that bullies them deep. Targets in, deep, and into the weak side. Then a serve contest with prizes, plus return work that gets you to the line in one move, balanced and ready.

III

Owning the Third Shot

35 min
The shot that flips the whole point

Drop fundamentals against live targets, the read for when to drop vs. when to drive, and cross-court point play with your coach so you're applying it under real pressure — not just hitting cones.

IV

Volleys From Every Spot

40 min
Take charge at the kitchen line

Forehand and backhand high-volley attacks to put away anything that floats. Soft hands and touch through the Golden Circle method. Transition volleys, half-volley resets, kill-shot patterns, and the crossing drill that ends cement feet for good.

V

Dink Like You Mean It

25 min
Patience, placement, kitchen domination

Straight-on dinks and diagonal dinks. Two games: longest rally challenge and the placement contest. Then advanced layers — spin, pace variation, and learning to instantly spot the ball you can attack.

VI

Speed Volleys

30 min
Everyone's favorite — pressure under fire

Your coach feeds aggressive balls right at the net player, dialed to your level. You apply the new volley technique under match-real heat and your hands genuinely speed up by the end of the block.

VII

Lobs, Resets & The Trick Shots

25 min
Tools to swing the momentum

Offensive vs. defensive lobs and the read for each. Reset shots to kill speed and take back the point. Rolls and flicks to add disguise and surprise to your game.

VIII

Live Match Play

35 min
Stitch the whole day together

Games to 7, partners rotating each round. Live coaching on shot selection, court position, and how to construct points — with corrections happening in real time, not at the end.

IX

Wrap-Up & Your Next Steps

10 min
What to do Monday morning

Your personal SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. Drill assignments to keep the gains coming, community access details, the path forward, and a group photo with the new crew.

Our Philosophy

Why Drilling Runs This Camp (And Why You'll Get Hooked Too)

Most clinics talk way too much. We do the opposite.

The principle: Drilling = Transformation

You don't get better by sitting through lectures — you get better by hitting shot after shot while a coach corrects you in the moment.

The buzz you get from sticking 10 serves to the same target, or finally putting away a fast ball cleanly? You feel it right then, on the court.

That's why drilling is the core of every camp we run — it's how you literally watch yourself improve in a single afternoon.

Remember That Walk Back To The Car After A Brutal Match?

Pickleball player reflecting after a tough match

You know the feeling — replaying every point on the drive home…

…rerunning the shots that should've been routine?

…watching players you know you're better than walk off with the W?

…feeling that gap between the player you are and the one you keep almost being?

That gap closes at this camp.

By the time you walk off the court at the end of the day, something real will have shifted. Your body will move differently. Your eyes will read the game differently. And the very next time you play, your regular partners will notice instantly that something's changed.

Picture this: it's two mornings after camp

You roll up to your usual morning game.

You start warming up and your regulars literally stop and stare.

"What did you do?"

Your serves are heavy and deep — no more shanks, no more pop-ups. Their return is on the way and you've already read it. Your drop is pulling them off the line. At the kitchen you're calmly running rallies with a patience they have never seen from you.

By game three they're asking what you did. By game five they're asking where you learned it. By the time you head home they're asking if you'd teach them.

That's the gap between who you are right now and who you'll be after this camp.

And it starts the moment you sign up — because the work begins before you even show up.

The Real Outcomes

What You're Actually Taking Home

Win points without burning out

You'll start steering rallies with positioning and shot choice instead of brute force. More points won, less energy spent — and that matters more every time you play three days in a row.

Walk away with a real pickleball crew

We put you on the court with other passionate players at your exact level. Numbers get exchanged, the group chat fires up that night, and within a few weeks you've got a regular group that knows your schedule and your game.

Stop second-guessing every shot

Drop or drive? Your body just knows. Time to move up? You're already moving. The hesitation that's been quietly draining points from your matches simply goes away.

Fix the leaks you didn't know were there

We surface the technical issues that have been silently capping your level and show you how to clean them up. Shots that used to embarrass you turn into shots you can lean on — all in one afternoon.

Fall back in love with the game

Once you feel what it's like to actually play at the level you've been chasing — once that plateau finally cracks — the obsession comes flooding back stronger than ever.
